Burnout (verb): to damage one’s health or become completely exhausted through overwork.
Burnout- a slippery slope into complete and utter exhaustion under the guise of succeeding. Your success is never worth burnout nor is it sustainable if achieved through total exhaustion!
The good news is burnout is preventable. It is preventable and will enable you to succeed without feeling too tired to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
This mental health and wellness month, The Connect Group wants to equip us all to identify possible early-stages of burnout well before it consumes us, starting with this FREE Burnout Prevention Self-Assessment.
It’s quick and easy to do, requiring a very minimal 5 minutes to complete. Tick the degree to which you relate to statements 1 through 15, tally up your score, and times it by the numbers present in the Scoring Table before totaling up and determining what your burnout levels tell you!
If you are in a position where burnout is absent then well done (And please, teach me your ways)! But for the rest of us, it is likely that burnout levels are high and so we encourage you to take your scoring along with you to your first consult with us, or another mental health service provider who can help you implement a burnout prevention plan/ self-care plan.
We recommend doing the assessment once every 3 months as well as any other time you feel burnout may be sneaking up on you.
Remember, prevention is better than cure, so let’s practice burn-out awareness so we can prevent it from destroying everything we worked so hard to build!
